Essence of Amsterdam

Amsterdam, Capital of Netherlands, is the most picturesque city surrounded with beautiful nature, colorful houses, canals and bridges.

It was May, summer time with very pleasant weather in Europe. This is the best time to visit Amsterdam as tulips at world famous Keukenhof garden blossom only during March to May. We chose Start Tours, which has the best package with 3 days stay from London, which included return ticket, 3 days stay, city tours and food. The total package price was around £500 per couple.

It was a pleasant day; we started our journey from London via Ferry and reached Brussels. On arrival in Brussels, we took a coach journey and proceeded towards the picturesque city “Amsterdam”. We then proceeded towards our hotel Novotel and checked into the hotel same day. We ended our day with a fabulous dinner followed by a night city tour.

The beauty of Keukenhof Tulip Gardens

On day 2, we visited the world famous Keukenhof Tulip Gardens. The flower park has 32 hectares of flowers. There are also spectacular flower shows, surprising inspirational gardens, unique artworks and wonderful events. Keukenhof Tulip Gardens are open from March 21 till 10 May of every year. Our package included the entrance ticket to Keukenhof Tulip Gardens. The entrance price is €18 per person for adults and €9 per person for kids with the age between 4 and 14. Keukenhof has a lot of restaurants and food outlets. Bicycle is the most convenient and popular vehicle to commute from places to places. In fact, it won’t be an exaggeration to say there is no one who doesn’t own bicycles and use them for daily commute. We rented a bicycle to get around within Keukenhof Tulip Gardens. We indeed enjoyed our visit with stunning view of Tulip garden with bicycle ride and fine dining experience.

Madurodam Model Village

On day 3, we proceeded towards Madurodam model village from Amsterdam. Madurodam is a miniature park and tourist attraction. It is home to a range of 1:25 scale model replicas of famous Dutch landmarks, historical cities and large developments. The entrance price is €17 per person.

Amsterdam Canal Cruise

Later afternoon we headed towards Amsterdam, the capital of Netherlands. It is famous for its artistic heritage, and elaborate canal system and narrow houses with gabled facades. We enjoyed this magnificent city from the Canal as the cruise that will take you through the intricate canal networks of Amsterdam.

Cheese & Clog Demonstration

On the same day, we made our way North of Amsterdam heading towards the Cheese and Clog farm. At the Cheese and Clog farm, we enjoyed a briefing on the cheese making process and the uses of clogs in Dutch history and modern times from a local.
